The Scottish Borders offers many opportunities for walkers - from the long distance St Cuthberts Way to the many walks through small quiet roadways, along riverbanks and in the local forests. From the house you can walk to the summit of Ruberslaw (1392ft) and take in the wonderful view of Teviotdale or take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the River Teviot. Just over a mile from Denholm is the18 hole Minto Golf Course. This parkland course has a superb clubhouse where you can get a meal from breakfast til dinnertime. Whatever your standard of golf this course is well worth a visit. The club has received many awards for its friendly welcome and is also a member of The Freedom of the Fairways golf scheme promoted by the Scottish Borders Tourist Board. We have a new archery centre at Eastcote House situated just off the A698 as you head for Hawick and a riding centre at Hazeldean where all levels are catered for.
